Gracy stared at her laptop screen with amusement…this was the 4th message in her Facebook inbox from the same guy. Anjan Bhowmick ….the name read and the guy stayed in Kolkata. She gave his profile a perfunctory look and then decided to accept his request because she liked his hobbies. He was into travelling, music and nature watching like her. Gracy treated Facebook as a kind of standby entertainment option like most girls of her generation. She browsed profiles, checked updates posted by her friends and vicariously window shopped through all the e merchants who have nowadays made Facebook their latest display portal. Gracy occasionally chatted online but never thought of nurturing relationships in the virtual world. However she had a steady boyfriend Kyn who was currently working in UK. Incidentally Kyn and Gracy had been high-school sweethearts who had lost touch for 5 years before they met again and flames rekindled themselves.  Kyn and Gracy were the quintessential cute couple….the kind that was found on the covers of Archie’s greeting cards.
