Part 1

Svetlana drummed her carefully manicured nails on her work desk. She had a series of important meetings throughout the day and Maahi had her PTM (parents teacher meeting) today. It will be really hard for me to find time off and visit Maahi’s school she mused…but I have got to make it happen. Finally mustering up enough courage Svetlana walked up to her boss’s cabin…hi Amish…I have my daughters PTM meeting today…I need a couple of hours off in the afternoon…I will deliver the cibaca presentation and then can lankesh and suvarna take over for today afternoon’s meeting. Svetlana’s boss Amish was in his late fifties and was a strict disciplinarian who didn’t like interruptions and change in plans. Lankesh has a stuttering problem and suvarna is new he retorted…I wanted this presentation to go flawlessly…this is a deal clincher. Go now to the meeting and try to come back by 12.30 p.m.…complete the raheja work later Amish ordered in clipped tones. Thanks a lot Amish replied Svetlana…mentally calculating how her daughter Maahi could reach school by 12. She is most probably napping now mused Svetlana…I had told her to get ready by 12.00 pm. Svetlana rued her hectic schedule as a single mother before swinging her car home…
