Sneha followed her mom’s advice and picked a thoughtful New Year’s Greetings for him. She signed the card as ‘from a dedicated admirer’ not revealing much of her identity. She wanted to keep the mystery element alive so as to make her man recklessly curious and interested. She passed the card through a local postal meter and left no return address on the card. She made sure that the card reached her man and it did. Her man, now frantically started looking out for that ‘admirer’ of himself. He inquired everywhere regarding local postal meters and finally ended up at the bank where Sneha worked as a receptionist. Her bank too had a postal meter. It did not take him long to discover his ‘admirer’ and the very moment he understood who it was, he walked up straight to her and asked her out for a date then and there. Sneha was wearing a red top that day and in no time her cheeks became as red as her top. She was dazed at the quick turnout of events but as she did not want to show off too much of eagerness, she told him that she was very busy that week and can only make time the next week. He agreed and after their first date out, they dated steadily for a couple of months until they got married to each other in late June the same year. Many years later when Sneha was cleaning their bedroom one day, she came across that greeting card with which she had approached her man years back. She smiled at it wistfully and then picked up the pen and signed it as ‘from a dedicated, admiring wife’….
