part 1
Tishka rolled down her car window to stare at the sky reflectively. The December sun shone lightly casting an irridicent hue on her face. Even this beautiful winter morning light cannot make me look pretty she thought with a sigh. The morning breeze stroked her hair in mock acceptance but that was small consolation to Tishka who always had a major issue with her appearance. Tishka had beautiful brown eyes caged behind bushy eyebrows and a delicate mouth that lost most of its beauty because of a lumpy potato like nose. For years she has digested jibes and snide remarks about her appearance before making peace with the fact that she would never qualify as “pretty”. Her tragedy was highlighted by the fact that she had an extremely pretty younger sister “Mishka” who made no bones about flaunting her beauty unabashedly. However what Tishka lacked in her appearance….God had compensated in another department…her voice…Tishka possessed a night angle like voice which had won her many awards and accolades. She had sung at many radio programs and musical shows and was currently travelling to shantiniketan from Kolkata for singing at a charity event.
