Part 1
Rishika combed her waist length hair with a strong vengeance into a tight bun. I so hate early morning flights…she thought. It was 4 a.m. and she had to be at the airport by 6 a.m.…the flight to Dubai left at 8 a.m. and there were lots of formalities she had to complete before that. Rishika was an airhostess…she had joined Emirates airlines a year back and she was doing pretty well for herself. She loved travelling, the glamour that an airlines job brought and the thrill of spending most of her time suspended in mid-air. What she didn’t love however was getting up in the morning…she had been reprimanded twice in the past by her senior Somali for arriving late for the pre-flight briefings. There is something so depressing about putting on makeup even before the sun is up in the sky thought Rishika as she slipped into her uniform. Now the only thing left for me is to check my travel case she reminded herself as she slipped inside energy bars, her favourite lipstick and thin woollen gloves (her hands often got uncomfortably cold) into her case. Casting a look at her sleeping roommate divya who was snoozing peacefully…Rishika shut close the door.
